My father started racing pigeons in the mid 80s where I was always around the loft. 

It wasn’t till the mid 90s when I start getting more involved moving the open hole system to widowhood with good results across the water

Then in the early 2000's I left home and went travelling with my now wife before moving in together where the pigeons came with us and I started on my own

We did have to move them to several addresses where I did have pigeons that had raced from 3 different addresses and they held their own but no real great results. 

We moved to our present address in 2011 where our son was born and then an extension on the house left little time for pigeons and the results showed 

Then in 2017 I started my own business chimney sweeping work hard all winter, easier time in summer for racing

My own line of pigeons are from my late friend Pieter Oberholster.

In 2009 I was given 10 unrung babies for payment for working on his house. These mixed with a pair of Hagens went on to be very good breedersand more importantly breeders of breeders.

In 2019/20 with my family becoming inbred, I met Thomas from Pipa and had an interesting conversation with him a couple of year earlier and with the help of Pieter I order two cocks from "BEST KITTEL II"

Being a sucker for coloured pigeons I ask if one could be a grizzle and I was lucky to have a full brother to "GRIZZLE BEST KITTEL" before he was famous.

Then bought 2 x "DOUBLE BEST KITTEL" from Pieter and a selection of hens from Pipa auctions, “NEW PIRAAT", "BLIKSEM" lines and my favourite being BK 1st ACE daughter of BK405 X Jackpot Diamond

and a super racer in her own right for Vermeerbergen-Wilms, She is is a great hen in the loft proving herself with children and grandchildren winning in the club

A son winning 42nd super ace 63rd final in Dubai. And her best granddaughter being 4th 1st  10th NC 55th 22nd 114th open BICC  5th open RPRA awards 200-400miles 2023 as a yearling. 

Now the others are showing signs of good breeder as a full brother to BK Grizzel is starting to show full potential

For the first few years I tended to put the better young birds in the stock loft especially when they have dropped in the dark from a bad training toss after 6 hr flying or dropping in 45 degree

heat after my young birds got lost one summer morning and he was the only one back at midday. 

Both of these young cocks from bk 1st ace have now bred winners.

She is starting to be the mother of my loft; the stock loft and I am seeing their blood come to the front. 

I also have White fang breed from two unrung pigeons of Pieters has now breed 3 x NC section winners 42nd ACE DUBIA and countless other top performers up to 400 miles

and he paired this year to a granddaughter of Bliksem mother of 2 fed 8th combine Guernsey and 1st 4th 10th Nc BICC 5th RPRA awards

I breed 60 young birds for racing and like to send to a couple of one loft races. 

I race under Team Ratel in one loft races. At the moment I like to send to Dubia and Vic falls just a small team of 5 or 8 as I test my pigeon against the world

Then I like to race 5-9 widowhood cocks and 5-9 round about cocks and 15 -20 widowhood/roundabout hens at the beginning of the season and all race to 400miles.
